Our History
In March 2025, as massive corruption scandals rocked the Congress-led UPA government, citizens across India united in anger and frustration. From students to professionals, civil society came together to demand the Jan Lokpal Bill — a strong anti-corruption law that had been buried in parliamentary committees for years.
Out of this rising public movement emerged a collective voice, now known as Lok Samadhan Party — the people’s solution to a broken system. It was more than a protest; it was a call for clean, transparent, and accountable governance.
Realizing that change could not come from protests alone, K.P. Maurya and a group of committed activists chose to enter politics, determined to clean the system from within. They believed that true reform had to come through political power driven by public interest, not personal gain.
And so, on 3nd October 2024, the Lok Samadhan Party movement gave birth to a political platform dedicated to the same values it was founded upon — honesty, transparency, and service to the people.
Today, Lok Samadhan Party continues to carry the spirit of that movement — striving for a corruption-free India where governance works for everyone.
Spanning over two years, across hundreds of cities, towns, and villages, lakhs of people mobilised themselves for this cause. Protest marches, gheraos of politicians, social media campaigns – a revolution had begun. Led by social activist Anna Hazare, thousands of people in several locations sat on fasts on three separate occasions to build support for the Jan Lokpal Bill, and pressure the government into acting on people’s demand. At the end of the third and final fast, despite all the efforts of the IAC, the Parliament had still not come around to passing the Jan Lokpal.
The government’s refusal to heed the people’s demand for accountability exposed the deep-rooted corruption eroding India’s political foundation. The proposed Jan Lokpal posed a serious threat to the interests of political elites and power brokers. It became evident that real change could not come from protests alone. At this turning point, a group of India Against Corruption (IAC) activists, led by K.P. Maurya, made a bold decision — to step into politics themselves. They believed the only path to a corruption-free India was to be part of the system and cleanse it from within.
And so, on 3nd October 2024, the anti-corruption movement evolved into a political revolution with the birth of the Lok Samadhan Party, marking a new chapter in the fight for clean governance.
